This was my first outing with my new DIY35mm DOF adapter, only 200 bucks, it's awesome! I used a 35mm f2 Nikon lens and my Canon HV30. The color profiles are from Magic Bullet Looks. Got the adapter just before I left for vacation.

Finally I can use my old Nikon lenses. And they are really nice manual focus lenses, with phat front elements, too.

Now, where to find a similar rig like this for the Sony A1U?

    Rob,

    Just wanna ask something.

For my Twoneil adapter. I think I need a lens that will let in more light aka in poor lighting conditions like indoors or night shoots. DOes a lens with a f1.4 be better.

I need wide angle lens that let in lots of light. So I am thinking of a NIkon 35mm f1.4 lens or a Tokina 11-16mm lens.

    Appreciate your inputs

I feel like I am flipping through an old album, the music is great, the images or frames can stand on their own. These would be great as fine art prints on the walls.

    Nice Job!

Is the vignette an artifact of the lens modification?

I like it but I was wondering if its something you added.

this is first example of virtual super8 look...awesome.

This video, more than any other on Vimeo, has convinced me I need to get a Twoneil adapter. Not that the other Twoneil videos weren't good, but this one struck me as particularly demonstrative of the adapter's possibilities.

A question for the community, if I may: does anyone what would happen if I used THIS lens with the Twoneil adapter:

    bhphotovideo.com/c/product/545654-USA/Nikon_2178_16_85mm_f_3_5_5_6G_ED_VR.html

    Thanks!

    Hi Diego,

Its some sort of a zoom lens right? When you use the twoneil adapter or any other adapter its kinda of difficult to zoom and focus at the same time if you are doing handheld, unless you are going to bring your video tripod along. This is because the image on the video will be upside down when you view on the camera display thus you are gonna be juggling to focus, zoom and looking at your shots which now, you have to think in reverse too (e.g. left is right, right is left . . .)

ALso For me the f-stops number are rather small at 3.5 - 5.6. I would like to get something with a F1.4 but hey, that's just me coz, of the light issues, unless you are gonna shoot somewhere really bright most of the time.

Having said that, please read up more review from other people, as I maybe wrong about certain things. A good search in Youtube or VIMEO for video review is a start, I think.

    Cheers

I love the fact that we dont have to have incredible budgets to now make "films" of incredible quality and beauty. Its one of those "inventions", ideas, that gives us the "proletariat" a chance.

    Hello Richard,

I love your video with the Twoneil adapter!!!

I have one too! Which one did you get to shoot with the Vacation video? The TWONEILHD Static or the TWONEILHD Static + TWONEILPLUS model (which I own)?

Another thing, if I use a prime lens like 35mm f1.4 will the image be brighter coz I am not satisfied with my Nikon 50mm F1.8 especially when I am indoors, its VERY dark, also the Canon HV30 tends to automatically closes its own aperture when we shoot in bright direct sunlight. How do you deal with that??

    Thank you for your time!
