I am Havana, is a portraiture of the earnestness of ordinary people living in Havana, Cuba. Although, it could easily be Port-au-Prince, Haiti or Kingston, Jamaica.

The film reflects the common thread or 'Special-ness' that is the Latin American and Caribbean sensibility. You may see the music of people in the region as they ingeniously navigate 'the devastating debris' of slavery, colonisation, globalisation, remote politics and natural disasters; with an intent on a progressive, conflict free, route map.

Despite the Habañeros very limited options, 'you will be optimistic, stand tall, sing and dance', like the elder in the portrait, near Plaza de la Revolución
