I would like to do something like this, it's so realistic and nice! I've done a shortfilm with 3D Studio, VRay, reactor and Real Flow, enjoy it if you want to see ;) Thanks!

Did you architect the classroom? In what program? What education did you get, i wanna learn this so badly but don't know what way to go, what Software to get and so on, im getting around all CAD software, but rendering and textures is another chapter... LOVE THIS great work.
  • Studio Aiko plus 1 year ago
    Hey Linus,

Yes, it was modeled and built in 3D Max and rendered with V-Ray.
Before getting started, I would suggest you to get familiar with this field of lighting/shading/rendering. you should do some research about it and see the render engines available in the market and what each one gives you.

    Thank you.

wow... my jaw dropped the first second I saw the classroom

what program was used to make this scene? and how long did it take to model it?
  • Studio Aiko plus 1 year ago
It took aprox. 6 month to finish it but it wasn't full time work. the modeling part alone took aprox. 3 month. the program used was 3D Max + V-Ray.

    Amazing!

Could you give a rough estimate on the time you have put in to this?
  • Studio Aiko plus 1 year ago
It took aprox. 6 month to finish but it wasn't full time work. it was kind of project that made between projects.

    Wow!

It's not just the modelling, texturing and lighting that make this really photorealistic but you have some lovely subtle color grading in there giving nice film like response curves, nice optical lens effects, subtle softening, flare, CA I think and some other characteristics that really sell this. In fact that part was so great it was just a few details in the models and textures that mean I could tell it was CG but I had to look hard!

    Fantastic work.
Fancy collaborating on a photo real drainpipe shot I need to complete a short? ;-)

absolutely terrific. I think the solder-holder thingy needed a tiny bit more dirt / wear & tear on it's out molding texure, otherwise it's friggin' perfect.

These are the kinds of things I'd like to see in a feature length animated movie, ideas that take advantage of the medium instead of simply trying to imitate live action filming limitations.
