This film was a collaborative effort between myself and my good buddy John Speaker. It was a quick and dirty shoot/edit, but the results are pretty good considering the equipment we had to shoot with. The film takes a closer look at the many small steps of playing a record.
All shot on the 7D with the exception of 1 macro shot at 29 seconds in, which was shot with John's Canon Vixia camcorder with a macro lens. Lenses on the 7D were a 35mm Nikkor F1.4 for most shots and a Tokina 11-16mm F2.8.
All shots were lit simply by bouncing light from a 500 watt Lowel Tota.
For the dolly shot we put the camera on top of an RC car and rolled across a table. All other shots are hand held, just body and lens.
All sound is foley and was recorded into the Canon Vixia for manual audio control using a Rode Video Mic.
Edited in Final Cut Pro and colored in Magic Bullet Looks.
Music is Panama Red by The New Riders of the Purple Sage.
