Not very interesting, I know. But this really cheered me up today when I was feeling sort of sad.

The best part of rainbows, is how everyone still stops for them. I was on my way to breakfast one morning and on the way to the dining hall there was one. Everyone was standing still, looking at it. It gave me goosebumps.

    i love moments like that.

Totally! I was looking at this rainbow today, too. From where I was standing it looked like it was over Mt. Tabor, and the other guy in the store was telling me about how there was a double one in the same position a while back, and everyone in the shops along Hawthorne had come out into the street to see them.

There is so much wonder in the everyday; it's really, really nice when people stop and take some time to enjoy it.

I love rainbows. I found out that if you're high enough in an aeroplane, rainbows can form a complete circle! I'm not sure exactly how high you have to be though.

I should probably clarify that when I say 'high', I'm referring to height - not being stoned. Although I expect if you get stoned enough, you probably could see rainbows in circles. Possibly leprechauns and gold too!

    big grin.

BTW, could someone explain the words "leprechauns" and I suppose goosebumps as short but periodical bumps.
  • Buck Flashroy 2 years ago
Leprechauns are small Irish elf-like creatures de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leprechaun

Goosebumps are the small raised bumps you get on your skin when you are cold (or scared or excited - caused by your hairs standing on end) I think the translation is "Gansehaut" (with an umlaut over the first a).

So many rainbows in Portland! I see them all the time.
  • Chelsa 2 years ago
isn't that because it rains there a lot?
  • dalas verdugo staff 2 years ago
Yes, keep believing that. Whatever keeps people from moving to our precious city!

I haven't seen a big rainbow like that for some time. I remember when we first moved to Maui. It was like rainbows are us! We tripped out! Doubles were common and really bright, triples were like.. Oooo, but every once in a while there'd be a quadruple and we would all stop and freak out on it.
I hope you're not sad any more!
  • charliesteadman 2 years ago
You lived in Maui? OK, I officially hate you. Or was it Maui, Oklahoma? Whew!
  • Buck Flashroy 2 years ago
I didn't know you could get more than a double! Then again, the sun isn't exactly bright over here in England.
  • Charlie 2 years ago
Is there a Maui, Oklahoma Charlie? Hahaha
I did have a charmed childhood, I lived on Molokai too.
*feeling more hate from people starved of sun*

Yeah Buck, depending on the time of day and location they are brilliant! The bands were thick as well. I can remember seeing near close to whole circles too.

    rainbows good!
Some people pull over for yard sales, I pull over for rainbows, they for me are a close relative (on the joy meter) to shooting stars & or meteor showers!
