Slidepipe was suspended by wires from the ceiling of the gallery. The spine of the work, a 12-meter stainless steel tube, was kept linear by a tension structure. The tube was not quite horizontal, one end was a few centimeters lower than the other.
The audience was invited to roll steel balls slowly through the long pipe, making the structure resonate and creating sounds.
