This sunrise HDR time-lapse was taken just outside of Crater Lake in Oregon. Pretty amazing land with little more than cattle to be found. Music is courtesy of Funki Porcini....

Wonderful sequence as always. Slightly marred by the vibration in the shot... doesn"t seem to be a windy day, what caused this? Anyway, the colors and range of exposure are amazing. Your HDR experiments are always inspiring.

In my opinion the vibration is great and it fits perfectly to the music.

Another sweet one Chad! What is up with all the strange movement? I wonder if you had the align image algorithm going on this one and it displaced the frames... Still wish the detail enhancer had better temporal consistency, but you already know my beef with that! I just uploaded a series of 'ultra wide hdr'... Check it out. Peas, J

    Nice Job!

Here on the Oregon Coast, I have a site dedicated just to video and images of the coastline, although not in HD.
    Check it out at oregoncoastescapes.com!

I also have some other projects here on Vimeo for camera tests of the local area.

  • and how does one go about creating an HDR video? frame by frame?
  • Chad Richard plus 1 year ago
I have a pretty detailed blog entry about it here:
    chadrichard.typepad.com/timelapse/
  • That is the most innovative and useful implementations of HDR I have ever witnessed. The technique is perfect for time lapse! Great work

may i ask how you processed it in post? looks like there was some exposure fiddling. (the grass in the beginning.. i'm guessing that it was dark before the sun was up...) or was that just how the video actually looked?

    great video all in all!

    thanks

I love the way the red colour comes up on the sky as the sun appears, and that the images the shakes abit. It really fits beautifully together.
