So such OS integration is required. All can be done at the application layer.

There will obviously be a bit of a learning curve, but nothing that people won't be able to adapt to (excuse the pun). More concerning is the requirment to buy new hardware (new mouse) although I suppose as an interface it could do with some updating! I wonder if this concept could actually be integrated into such a complex model that the web currently is. Is there a timescale for this concept? Anyone? Once we all get microcips in our heads maybe we could run this browser internally! lol ;)

The future of technology is apparently an iPhone designed by a committee of bad designers.

Without sounding like an iphone groupie, I must note that my current iPhone is not that far away from what is shown. Proper integration between some apps and webservices is still missing but pretty close to being there.

This video made me all excited about the next few years!

adding some sharing, collaborating, etc, etc is a great way to improve the web, but what is presented here seems to be created for pro users, not everyday users.

too many icons tucked in on such a small screen. it's a usability disaster for me. trying to put all the available data to a small screen like this is not a good solution. especially if it is distributed in a 3d world on a 2d screen. while we love to see 3d on sites (especially flash enabled ones), navigation is too hard. my parents still cannot efficiently use a mouse and keyboard, i don't believe that they will be able to find what they are looking for on that screen while flying through a virtual z axis.

in my opinion, iphone's user interface is too similar to this techonology, and the usability is extremely friendly. what i had seen made me feel like a "pimp my iphone" show.

also, if the actors in here had glasses, it might be realistic as the text is too little.

anyway, it's still a really good presentation of what the web will be in the future. and damn i want some :)

The key theme that resonates with me is just increasing the transparency between the home/desktop experience and a mobile device through some type of smart sync. And making associated references. For ex. It understands a. you were looking at x book on amazon today and then when you are walking around etc, it alerts yo that the store 1 block away has that book you were browsing online. Desktops and mobiles may not be the same interactive experience in the future , but they will leverage the events that happen on each device and start to become seamless. This of course will all depend on the freeing up of data to that permeates the system instead of an app or browser session.

  • Looks very promising. It's too iconic though. It seems that Aurora tries to display as less text as possible by substituting every word or command with an icon which sometimes is less descriptive than it's text equivalent.
I believe that there should be a better balance between icons and text so that we get the best out of both worlds by adapting the structures and methods that are already succesfull.
