Gives me inspiration as well.
I wonder how short an overlay can be in MovieMaker to make it move.
In Vista's MM6 a custom title overlay used with a graphic can be as short as 1.75 seconds. But if you save a clip with one on it, and then apply the speed-up, double effect to it a number of times, you can get things moving along a bit quicker. That's what I did with this piano keyboard sample.
The section about the Starter Kit on the same website page as the Keyboard package includes info about where the files need to be.
The custom xml file needs to be in the Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX folder, and the png image files in the Movie Maker\Shared folder.
Most who have issues put them in the wrong folder or don't create the AddOnTFX folder when it isn't there.... it doesn't come with Movie Maker.
When you open the project file, zoom into the timeline with your PgUp/PgDn keys... the overlay clips are pretty short so zooming in is often needed to see them.
