Communication and media expert Howard Rheingold interviews Sheryl Grant about her experience at the 2010 DML Conference and how it applies to the 2011 Digital Media and Learning Conference in Long Beach, CA, Mar. 3-5, 2011.
Sheryl pointed out that one of the largest benefits of the Conference is being able to collaborate with like-minded peers: "The DML Conference provides opportunity for people to come together and you can practically see the collaborations, you can see the sparks..."
Grant is director of Social Networking for the national and international HASTAC/MacArthur Foundation Digital Media & Learning Competition and a doctoral student at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill's School of Information and Library Science. She is on the conference committee and working on the social media component of the conference, as well as helping to curate work from the winners of the 2010 DML Competition.
