Dick of Rooky Ricardo's Records - rookyricardos.com/
Haight Street stretches across the city of San Francisco, holding history and culture that make up the neighborhood's unique personality. A member of the communities cutlure and history is Richard Vivian, owner of Rooky Richardo's Records in Lower-Haight (448 Haight St.).
The shop began 25 years ago as a space to house his collection of vinyl records. His storage slowly grew into a library of music where soul seekers could stop by to listen and discover music dating back to 1950's. It takes only a few minutes listening at his store, to appreciate Dick's passion for soul music. He's an active member of the community, as a store owner and DJ of soul parties in the city.
The working title for the project is Neighbors, a series of short stories about individuals from various neighborhoods in San Francisco. Part conversational interview, part documentary – we get to know the individual in the context of their work and home environments, in order to gain a deeper understanding of their influences on the community.
