    brilliant :P
  •
  • Wow that was really good, I love the editing.
I was just wondering was this piece filmed specially for making this clip or was it from a movie or was the video images taken from a movie and then edited to fix the music?

    really awesome anyways!

Same. I guess I vaguely understand it. Nonetheless, as far as looks, the video is beautiful.

    This is just brilliant.

The music is eloquently done. The acting was superb. The symbolism is remarkable. Not stopping because of the phone, the car, desert, and the hard road ahead. The adventure of getting away and starting over.

    Well done.

You dont get it? I think its a pretty simple short film, a guy, for some unknown but daunting reason must leave his life. He packs it into a suit case and hits the road. His car breaks down and he's forced to make a choice. Sit and die, or move on. The phone, or whatever unknown source of its call is the antogonist that runs him out. I think its a fun little story actually.

I was wondering if you could give me an edit count on the piece, or perhaps, how many edits per minute it averages.

  • eisenkind 1 year ago
not my cup of tea, way too many cuts. sometimes less is more
  • David Godwin 1 year ago
But that's the whole idea of the piece ... less is more when less is appropriate. A rhythmic drive and so much tension / mystery!!!
  • Ellis Bahl plus 1 year ago
exactly: sometimes. which implies that sometimes more is more.
  • eisenkind 1 year ago
silence only has impact if there is loudness to begin with, to me balance and reduction are the key to everything.

it feels like this one goes only in one direction, start to finish, without any contrast whatsoever in mood.

    just my 2 cents.

No resolution ... walking away in the dark is never an answer. Technically good, conceptually lacking.
  • Wojciech Grosser 1 year ago
I wouldn't say never. I'd say, walking away into the dark is consider an answer for too many people, too often. Btw, videos don't have to give answes...

    seriously good, music is icredible

Paddy! What a coincidence, how's it going man. I agree, this film is wicked. I saw that you won a 7D and boiled with jealousy. Can you send me a link to your film again?

It made me nervous! Maybe that was intended.

Hey, I think I used to own that car. Hey, I think that old geezer is me.

this was great, I loved the editing in particular
  •
  • Looks like an expensive camera was used, maybe something like a Sony or a Canon. Probably edited on a Macintosh. However, hard to believe this is what passes for brilliant nowadays--no offense intended.
  • Sam Morrill staff 1 year ago
I agree with you that this was probably edited on a Macintosh.
  • The same editing can be accomplished on a PC ;)
  • That is total bullshit, no offense, please, no offense intended, but there is NO WAY this could've been edited on a PC... I'm sorry man, don't mean to be argumentative, but I'm just not having it.
  •
  • Sound design was top notch!
  • Alex Harbin 1 year ago
definitely was. nad i saw your comment above, what do you think is the best editing software for a pc?
  • I'm in love with Sony Vegas. My teachers frown upon it because they are Mac snobs, hehe, but I want to prove to everyone that it's the editor's mind, not the software, that makes something awesome. The program itself is very fun to use as well.

    В чём смысл?
  •
  • very cool. what equipment did you use? I know 35mm but what exactly? sequel?
  •
  • Ruari Lane 1 year ago
Wow. A thought provoking assault on the senses! I disagree with Kenny that there is no resolution; everything's a bit existential these days anyway. I love that at certain cuts it repeats an alternative version of the previous second's action. Sporadic and brilliant. Is it too obvious to suggest that a moment of stillness plonked in the middle would be really effective?

Épuisant ! Le visionnage est réellement très dur.

But it's so beautifull, really. Thanks !

I thought the editing was great. It added to the music and set the frantic pace. Nice use of sound too!

I did not really like the ending because it left too many questions. But you prabably wanted it to end the way it did. Atleast you did not show anyone dead at the end!
  •
  • Jordan Riggs 1 year ago
Well you're visuals blow my mind to bits!
  •
  • Chris Capel plus 1 year ago
Technically amazing. The editing and music work so well together. Beautiful cinematography as well.

But I gotta say, it really felt pointless to me. Like you had this cool idea for a short, but couldn't figure out how to end it. ...so you didn't.

No offense. And maybe I'm missing some deep meaning that other people seem to be finding. But I didn't get it.

Really liked the way this was made, all the cuts and the music, that was brilliant.
But I was hopeing through the whole video to get a clear ending, ...
still "LIKE" because the music was just so so nice!!
  •
  • you know how to do your buildup. Probably good you didn´t "deliver" at the end after this incredible build. I wouldn´t accepted anything less than something really, really amazing. but in the end, it isnt about the end or solution, but the journey towards it. Thanks!

    good job, guys!

  • fantastic in every way!!!!!

I absolutely love this style of editing, superb acting and a striking eloquence to the music. This idea of the journey in between being the focus tells such a nicer story than if we were shown 'grounding' narrative background.

I love how the editing helps tell the story. Chaos, panic, and confusion told through the edit, the actor, and the score. Great job on this.
