This is a time lapse of the setup, rehearsals and game for Super Bowl XLII (42) between the New England Patriots and the New York Giants at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ. Tom Petty played for the halftime show and several rehearsals can be seen leading up to game day.
This is the second of two cameras running for the event. Photography began on January 30, 2008, just before the stadium's retractable field tray rolled in for the final time before the game. It ran through February 5, 2008 (two days after the game). The camera was mounted on west side the suite (press) level, roughly above the southern goal line.
This video was rendered at 1080p resolution, 24 frames-per-second.
The primary camera angle that was up for nearly a month in the north-west catwalk is here: vimeo.com/2832231
