Spreading through Germany. Noticed that video is out in October. What type of line and leader did you use?
    Awesome!!
  • tapamthemovie 1 year ago
We used Rio's Leviathan fly lines® only (they have a very strong tensile strength). As leader we used straight 130 lbs fluorocarbon from Seaguar.

So Legit! GREAT time-lapse work! To capture the transition from night/day did you use program mode?
  •
  • andy hine 1 year ago
    superb
  •
  • tapamthemovie 1 year ago
    Hi Reel Escape,
Glad you like the timelapses, there will be a few more in the full length movie. They were all shot in manual mode - the apparent night/day transition is actually the moon rising around midnight, outside the frame!

Great HD video. Very crisp and sharp. What camera are you using? I wanna get one too. ^_^
  • tapamthemovie 1 year ago
Thanks! The entire film is shot with DSLRs: Canon 7D and Canon 5D MKII, we used Canon and Zeiss prime lenses mostly. Hint, the entire film is shot manually: be it exposure or focus.

I'm wondering about the underwater shots and also those in the rain, waterproof housing for the cams? What were you guys using? :)
  • tapamthemovie 1 year ago
The UW shots were done w/ a GoPro. All the rain stuff is done w/ the 7D and Canon L-lens + some prayers that the gear would make it through the rain. We just put a bag or towel over the rig :-)

god, this is nice! where do you filmed that and . . . where can I buy it?
  • tapamthemovie 1 year ago
Adrian- it was filmed in remote Central America.
tapamthemovie.com will serve as online sell site, we will ship worldwide... We very much hope to have the DVD and Blu-ray release mid-November.

  • Karl Danneberg 1 year ago
Welldone guys , may i ask what editing software was used?
  • tapamthemovie 1 year ago
Karl- the entire post-production was done at G+K Film in Frankfurt. AVID was used to make most of the cutting, graphics were done in After FX, if I'm correct.
If you have more questions, don't hesitate.

TX, we do alot of our own shooting and editing , primarily offshore for tuna and makos on fly. Currently we shoot with Nikon D90 DSLR , 2 sony HDV Cams + underwater hosuing , editing is done in premier elements but we are looking at purchasing the adobe premiere production suite. Avid is a little out of our league so far as cost is concerned.

  • Nice work all around. Any sharks patrol the same waters looking for pasty white legs attached to flippers?
  • tapamthemovie 1 year ago
Roy, luckily no sharks or other dangers. We are not a "high risk behavior" team. We wanted to come home alive after the film shoot :-)

Truly amazing! I've been fishing from a float tube for almost 30 years, but the biggest thrill I've had was a 10-lb. largemouth. I have long thought about taking it to the Gulf to tackle reds or specks, but this has changed my goals. Beautiful film, guys!
  • tapamthemovie 1 year ago
Thank you Randy! Every fish caught from a tube is great! All we can say: give it a try for reds and specks, you'll have a blast; safety first, though.

  • Luis Fernandez 1 year ago

  • Marcin Szczepanski 1 year ago
Beautiful work. What did you guys use to record audio?
  • tapamthemovie 1 year ago
    Hi Marcin,
thanks for your kind words. We used an external Zoom H4N, that we dropped in the deep river after 9 days... So we ended using the internal sound only, which we recorded through Røde Videomics with dead cats straight to the cams.
