The writer of Hebrews encouraged believers to get in the race at the beginning of chapter 12. The winner must be a disciplined, prepared runner-and discipline involves pain. We shouldn't be surprised. God disciplines his children to mold them into a deeper likeness of His Son- our ultimate hero in the faith.
Today, many of us have settled for a "fake Christianity," mixed with the shallow teachings of our culture. The result is a "gospel" unable to deliver authentic change. The challenge for us today is to commit our lives to be "sold out" to Jesus and His gospel-regardless of the cost.
This week, you'll get to meet Scott Carter, one of our missionaries serving in Southeast Asia. Many of you know him because he grew up here. He's an example of someone who is sold out to Jesus and His gospel-a young man whose life was radically changed. What changes does God want to make in your life? Are you willing no matter the cost?
