Tiananmen “Tibet Die-in” Protest 080908
Beijing – Five Tibet supporters held a dramatic protest in Tiananmen Square early this afternoon, calling for an end to the Chinese government’s occupation of Tibet.
Four of the activists, lying down and draped in Tibetan national flags, staged a mock die-in with the famous portrait of Mao in the background. A fifth activist spoke about their reason for protesting there today.

1 year ago WELL DONE - good message and very calmly executed, great example of a protest any reasonable country would have permitted. -
Carol McGuigan 1 year agostriking to see this happen in Tiannaman Square where it would be impossible for any Chinese person to express these views - may this protest lead in however small a way to the lifting on restrictions on Tibet and its people and have a beneficial effect on China too. Well done and well said.
