A couple years ago, I made this film at NYU. This is the shortest, tightest, weirdest (debatable?) cut that i did.
Rough as hell. It was a disastrous film shoot that nearly killed me and proved that I should never make another film, ever.
The script was written at a different time. It was all about reactions. Reactions to the pressure of writing a screenplay in no time that was viable for me to shoot and the pressure of earning the quality promised by a title as fantastic as "our friend baldwin." (fail)
Reactions to learning that I had been lied to by everyone about Kennedy. Reactions to the looming menace of Judd Apatow and Seth Rogen's imminent takeover of comedy.
I cast friends and they did a good job, despite my failure to direct them. I should have acted in it myself more and added wilder scenes, gone outside of that apartment.
Restraint is for those who can afford it.
