This week we're joined by friend of the show, John Calabrese who is a local long time craft beer drinker whom we've gotten to know at all the local beer fests. He is a wealth of beer knowledge and all around fun guy to hang out and drink a beer with.
We break out a bottle of Cigar City's Humidor series IPA, that was graciously provided by Anthony Kirkish ( @egabrewing ) and discuss the difference between cedar aging and normal wood aging.
We pair this beer with a 1 year aged gouda and a 2 year aged cheddar as well as a delicious bowl of Spicy Beef Thai fried rice.
On Master Pairings with Dr. Bill, Aaron Holzer our new camera guy, gets a lesson in pairing amber lagers when Dr. Bill pairs Flying Dog's Old Scratch with Fried Chicken and some cheeses.
We're at the Great American Beer Festival this weekend, and figure you may be as well, so if you are please track us down and say hi!
