A derecho blew through the Quad Cities on July 21. It took out a lot of trees. We were without power for 4 and a half days. We had 94 MPH winds. The sky was actually green. It was the first time since we moved to the Quad Cities that we actually felt like we had to go to the basement. Oddly, the tornado sirens went off about the time the storm had actually passed. Our pup, Tucker, was stiff as a board during the storm.
