This screencast describes how to combine Max/MSP's poly~ object with Max for Live's live.observer object, to create a patch that can output the name of any clip that is triggered in an Ableton Live set.

This patch is demonstrated in the context of a Live DJ set, in which it displays the name of each tune that is dropped into the mix. (Ableton - can we have M4L support for the Serato Bridge software plz, hint hint!)

This is the first of a two-parter. In part two we'll build on this patch, using Max's Jitter functions to display the information in a useful way.
