  • I still think your first "Human Movement" is way better as a whole - the "wedding" between images, movement, speed and rhythm, and the overall emotion perfectly combined with the music. This clip here, has nice angles, nice photography, nice stunts, but from my point of view, I think it could be better if it had some sort of visual analysis of the movement itself and some emotional charge underneath it all. I don't like the green glow around the red areas because it kills the optic realness and turns it into a video-ish distraction from what could be very powerful.
Having said that, I LOVE IT that you're so actively testing and trying new stuff, because you're so talented, and I am sure you will do many brilliant things if you keep enjoying the process. It's quite stimulating seeing the inherent pleasure in all your creations. Keep it coming Jordan!

Now that i look back at it i agree with the green glow, it doesn't work, i'm going to make another cut with adjustments. This is why i post on vimeo, to get opinions on things i cant decide on by fellow film makers and people i admire. You know what its like when you've watched your cut a thousand times and cant make any clear decisions on things.

I don't have much to add that Antonio didn't already cover although I think the music fit this one pretty good. I, also, REALLY like that you're still pushing yourself and trying so many new things. You're going to go far.

your amazing at what you do this is yet another amazing video.

the only thing i didnt like was the green glow around the red person, it was kinda distracting. but i cant critisize too much cause i could never make something nearly as good as this haha. great job

is the green fringe the result of having used a green screen?
  • Jordan Clarke plus 1 year ago
No i didn't use any green screen. I had Mat wearing all red and the forest was green. When I isolated the colour I allowed it to fall off onto the forest to get the green highlight, i then changed the forest to a blue. I wanted the whole video to be stylized in these 3 colours.

What a blast, I'll trade my I.T. job for this any old time.

I really like at :34 the camera is moving and facing in a different direction than the subject is approaching the camera. What great work.

  • Awesome. Wire fu done in the Pacific NW.

That's really cool. I'm not a fan of the 'subject isolated in colour and the background black and white' look. I felt it detracted from the coolness of the clip.

Love the shot of him boosting off the guy's head!

I like how the camera moves in different directions than the subject, instead of just following him.

everything awesome man, must have been so much fun to shoot end edit. I just don't dig the green aura, it was distracting my eye a little bit.

This looked like a lot of fun :) yea, I'd like to know too if this was a home-made wire rig?
  • Jordan Clarke plus 1 year ago
This was a homemade wire rig, we climbed up some trees put a wire and pulley and just fooled around pulling each other. Haha i'll upload this one clip of us making it. The flipper had to take a piss, and every time he had to piss, the pullers yank on the wire, he's flying around trying to keep a straight aim and not show his dylan or get any on himself.

i wish i had access to a wire rig
i love how you mesh the video with the music so well
except i dont like the balloon videos
    i dont get them
    but this is awesome
  • Jordan Clarke plus 11 months ago
I actually didn't have access to a wire rig. I built the rig for 50 bucks from stuff i bought at home depot. But thanks for the encouragement

I love your human movement videos. It would be great to see what you could do with jugglers/hoopers/circus people.
