Hispeed camera MX training session
This is a 2 minutes movie. All shots were made with a now old model of I-Movix hispeed camera (www.i-movix.com), in spring 2007.
Almost all of them were shot at 1000FPS, except a close-up, around 1'36", which was captured at 3000FPS.
Some pictures suffer CCD smear and debayering abberations, but the actual camera is far better and with no smear at all.
I'll post some more pictures of hispeed cam soon...
Enjoy, and feel free to leave any comment!

nice one :)
Because I thought high FPS played at normal speed woud show little or almost no motion blur, an effect similar to using a high shutter speed.
At 2:05 when the guy is passing the screen the slo-mo kicks in and at 2:08 when the playback speed is back to normal there's normal motion blur... At least it seems to me.
I'm just curious...
In this case, normal speed is obtained by speeding up footage by a 40:1 ratio (1000/25). So if you only pick one frame every 40 frames, you'll have that "strobe" or "shutter" effect, since every frame has been captured at only 1/1000s.
But for artistic choice, as well as realism concern, a much better solution than picking 1 frame every 40, is to frame blend your footage when speeding up. This way, every frame is used, and 40 of them are blended into a new resulting one. This way, you simulate very closely the motion blur you'd have if shot at normal speed.
Is that clear ? (I'm not sure I am…)
So it's just plain old frame interpolation?
Or maybe something more complex, like motion compensation and bla blah?
Motion blur is believable.
i'll add it to my channel if that's ok.

Thx!!!
Bravo ma poule
another your masterpiece!
thanx
Can you give us some idea how much the camera is?
The thing is it's not only a camera, it's a system with a camera, a remote controller unit, a server that's fed by camera and which streams a real time HD-SDI video signal output...
It's clearly build for professionnal use, in a realtime environment, like sport live action, and meant to be included into a bigger setup with many standard cams, video switcher, VCRs, etc...
I think the whole system is about 200-250k$...but price will drop down fast in the future I guess :)
