The Art of Christian Biography: Athanasius and the Story of Anthony. What does a genuine Christian look like? Most, if not all, Christians probably answer this by reading books about great Christians from the past. The practice of writing such books is as old as the Bible itself; but, throughout the centuries, Christian writers have sought to inspire, educate, warn and entertain through recording the escapades of significant Christian leaders. Athanasius was no exception; and in his “Life of Anthony” he set a standard, both in its strengths and weaknesses, for future generations.
