This time lapse was taken August 13-14,2008 between 11:23pm and 1:13am (Pacific Daylight Time) looking NE to E from the Victoria Centre Observatory, the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, atop Observatory Hill, Victoria, BC, Canada.
Look closely! There are at least five Perseid meteors and one satellite streaking by in this time lapse. Play the video several times to give yourself a chance to see all the Perseids. The small fuzzy patch travelling across the image from centre to the upper right corner is M31 Andromeda Galaxy.
HD video made from a series of 170 images taken in sequence using a Canon 30D, Canon 10-22mm zoom operating at 16mm, mounted fixed on a tripod. Exposure: 30 seconds each; ISO 800. AVI produced from jpgs using MovieSalsa, then Sony Vegas was used to slow down the motion, add titles and the music score - a Cinescore composition (Slow Motion Bloom).
I would strongly recommend that you download the original WMV file to avoid the gross compression artifacts marring the dark sky when viewing online.
