Nel 1960 Roma ospitò la XVII olimpiade dell'era moderna.
Quei giochi cambiarono per sempre il panorama urbanistico della città, a partire dal Villaggio Olimpico che, terminate le competizioni sportive, diventò il quartiere della nascente classe media; un quartiere funzionale e avveniristico, caratterizzato da un delicato equilibrio tra natura e cemento.
A distanza di 50 anni la natura ha preso il sopravvento; poche tracce sparse, talvolta disperse, testimoniano la presenza visibile dell'uomo.
Ma il villaggio è un quartiere vivo, vitale, unico; non vuole altro che essere scoperto lentamente, con paziente contemplazione.

In 1960, Rome hosted the XVII edition of the Olympic Games of the
modern era. This event radically changed the urban setting of the city,
starting from the Villaggio Olimpico that, once the games were over, became the neighbourhood of the new middle class, a functional and
futuristic area, characterized by a delicate balance between nature
and concrete.
50 years later, nature is taking over the landscape and there are only a few scattered signs of the human presence. But the Villaggio is a unique and sbustling neighbourhood that wants nothing but being discovered slowly, in patient contemplation.
