Strix Robotum is a film that was made to be shown as part of the Acoustica Music Festival at Exeter Phoenix, U.K.
It was filmed on the hoof over 3 days at various locations in the south west of England.
It is the story of a friendship between a lonely robot and an owl, who become friends through a shared love of music. Thus bringing together Electronic and Acoustic which is the essence of the Acoustica Festival. The soundtrack was lovingly scored to the visuals afterwards by Alex Borland & David Barker. This was after the visuals had been placed together beautifully by Patrick Cullum. Tom Groom & Alex Borland came up with the original idea, with help from the gang, & I was put in charge of wielding the camera and gesturing on location.
Tom Groom, Natalia Kisielnicka, Lucy Caine & Lora Albritton did a fabulous job with the Costume, design and Set, and Guy was a super Robot.
The film was a huge collective effort by all involved, and we had a lot of fun making it.
