An extreme way to get a room upgrade or a sign that I just work too hard. First night of my holiday in Dubai after shooting a documentary here and this is my nightmare...

Shot on my EX1 naked. Camera too...

You have done it again! Instead of wrestling with your pillow, you produced something truly arresting! You have a special gift . . . or is it a curse!

i only did a few shots to knock together to show the manager so I could get an upgrade to sea view. it worked!

I mean that Philip Glasss is great and all but his music IS very loud at 3AM.

Those big cranes are like the hands of clock. I love the cement truck. Now I know why building materials are so expensive: first building frenzy in Bejing, now in Dubai!

    all ex1!. Slow shutter
  • MILapse 1 year ago
wow. very impressive! So what's the longest shutter biggest F with the stock lens that cam allows? You can't get like 5-20 second exposures can you??

Your work never ceases to amaze me. This is brilliant. You could've easily given us a simple time-lapse. But instead you give us something more... take it to the next level by incorporating the element of a window opening and closing. It's the small things you do that really elevate your work into art. Thanks again.

Dubai is unrelenting, unfinished and unnatural. Only Glass would do. Lovely.

I had a simillar experience a few years ago:

Will you have my babies? Oh wait, that won't work. Still, I admire your work! Love the little storyline you brought into just showing pretty pictures. Also loved the ending and must say that Noyaaqatsi (or how you spell that) has been a big influence on me too since I saw it a few months back.

That's got to be one of my favorite Video's. You weren't kidding about sleeping. I'm a bit of a nightowl and can relate. 24/7 construction, I don't know to say about that except, just glad you were able to capture it.

"I mean that Philip Glasss is great and all but his music IS very loud at 3AM."

How true. I'm actually beginning to shoot a feature documentary in the same vein as Koyaanisqatsi for a Philip Glass recital at my school next semester. Unfortunately, I don't have five years to shoot and 35mm cameras to shoot WITH. I've got a dvx-100a, a solid work station, and a whole lot of tricks. These films of yours are definitely going to be inspirational in this work. Keep 'em coming for my benefit!
