The Badger King - The Showering Dragons (2003)

Before YACHT and before The Blow I was in a band called The Badger King. We made three records together, two of which are out of print.

In 2003 we made a rock opera together called "The Showering Dragons" of thirteen songs and a 45 minute film that was commissioned by the Portland Institute of Contemporary Art. We debuted it at PICA's very first TBA Festival with a live performance of the songs with the film projected gigantically behind us.

After that we performed the opera maybe three or four more times before breaking up. We had planned to release the opera as a CD/DVD combo, but we were pretty pissed at each other and we both became increasingly busy with school (Ritchey is now a doctoral candidate of musicology) and other music stuffs (Manta, YACHT, The Blow).
