J'aime le changement de rythme dans le défilement.
    Belles images, les gars !
  •
  • If there was an option to "Love" this instead of "Like", I would've chosen it!
Such crisp colours, such great clarity, angles were great, whole thing was awesome!
    What are you filming on?
  • stimul plus 1 year ago
Thank you! It was shot with the 5d (raw).
  • Looks great mate!
Would you recomment one for the money?
Could you also recomend a medium quality lense for beginners, preferably a zoom lense?
  •
  • Hum, fucking awesome.

The slow shutter during the daytime was a nice touch! Nobody ever does that.
  • Rafael Asquith plus 1 year ago
Nobody ever does that? Are you refering to slow shutter? Because I use to do it everytime I'm shooting a timelapse using nd filters. One of the first things a learned to shoot a timelapse is "drag the shutter"
  • Mark staff 1 year ago
Maybe it's more accurate to say that I just very rarely see it. The only time I see it done is usually night shots, not day.
  • Ringo Paulusch 1 year ago
I've also used one (B+W 106) in my timelapse of Berlin:

    Very nice!
  •
  • In the past 2 hours i've watched it about 4 times.
    Really a great piece.

You mentioned the pictures were RAW but what kind of filters did you use on your lens? or was that done in POST?
Any color correction on the video or all from filters on the lens!
    Great work!
    Thanks for sharing!
  • stimul plus 1 year ago
Thank you! We used a 9 stop neutral filter. Color correction was done in post production.

  • stimul plus 1 year ago
    Not HDR but RAW.

  • Frankie Freitas 1 year ago
this is so great. congrats on this awesome piece. How did you edit all this stuff? raws to jpegs, then movs from the jpegs and edited it then? im curious about frame rates as well.
this is one of the most impressive timelapses i've seen on here lately. beautiful.
  • stimul plus 1 year ago
Thank you! First, we did many presets with the camera raw editor and we imported the raw sequence in After-effects (25fps). For example for one shot we would have one layer for the sky, one for the buildings, etc.. then we merged the layer together using masks and different blending modes. We also did a lot of lens correction to "correct" perspectives.

Most of the time pictures were taken every 8 seconds with an exposure time of 4 seconds..

Nice! Recognized most of the spots except for the cemetery. Where in NYC is that??
  • stimul plus 1 year ago
It's calvary cemetery, Queens. It was also used for the film The Godfather for the funeral of Don Corleone
  • rastAsia plus 1 year ago
Ah of course! I could only think of the cemetery in Jersey City viewable on the way to Newark. Really good work mate. Well done.

As you know the first movement of Beethovens symphony is " Allegro ma non troppo, un poco maestoso" and - though nobody should compare a video with Beethoven's music - your video is in my opinion also maestoso, at least un poco.
