On May 19, 2007, eight members of the Triangle Indie Film Meetup Group participated in this short film, shot on one reel of Super 8 film as part of the 2007 Attack of the Fifty Foot Reels competition, sponsored by our local Flicker film festival. The film was edited only in camera and screened June 11 at the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro, NC, before being converted to a Quicktime movie. Enjoy!
Love on the Rocks (2007) - 3 minutes
A film by The Triangle Indie Film Meetup Group. Shot on location at Eno River State Park, this film suggests that life rolls (and rocks) like a river, that love -- not unlike life, law, or lobbying -- is a revolving door, and that no one should underestimate the trickster powers of John, El Dios de los Ríos. ;-)
The music for this film is provided by Koop. The song is "Waltz for Koop" off the album of the same name. Check it out -- some really good music.
Thanks to John, Richard, Whitney, Dan, Renee, Sreedevi, and Vicki for bringing our little film to life. What a bright, funny day!
Update - April 3, 2008
Love on the Rocks was featured at the 15th annual James River Film Festival in Richmond, Virginia, as part of their Flicker program celebrating ten years of Attack of the 50 Foot Reels. Our film was presented along with other outstanding Super 8 productions from as far away as Austin, Los Angeles, and other Flickers across the country.
