Really awesome project, but the text really ruined the experience.

I actually quite like the text effects in the video

    Totally agree with Alex
Too much effects practically kill the beautiful idea
    Nice work anyway

I'd love to watch a version of this without the text or music. It's a lovely image, but those elements are really getting in the way for me.

Really well done - the text is interesting and well placed for the most part - although i wasn't crazy about the "rebirth of a district" treatment. Overall, really great cinematography and editing - and you edited in AE & Avid MC ;)

Incredible. The best movie of its kind I've ever seen. Personally I really enjoyed the graphic elements you employed. Well done.

Fantastique! And a killer opening. Really well done. Big question: how many times a day did the shutter click?

Bravo Ramon! That is some fantastic photography, and an impressive amount of post.

The tilt shift simulation through AfterEffects comes across brilliantly, obviously, as there are so many commenters here, and on Gizmodo, that are assuming you used a tilt shift lens setup. I look forward to following and learning from your future projects.

    tres Magnifique!

  • I think that "Amazing" lacks of meaning about your effort and talent. It's an extraordinary and superb video. WOW

First thank you everyone for your comments :) I really appreciate.

Christopher: I have about 80 pics per day from 8AM to 8PM + 5 pics per night
Cameron: you're right, i did not used a tilt-shift lens. Blurring has been done in After effects.

    Cheers

The amount of work that must have gone into shooting this over the course of 3 years is insane.

Not to mention quite post heavy, so many quick fast edits and time lapses, masking at the end for the full destruction to finished project.

    Amazing work.

Harsh weather conditions for that pentax ehh?
  •
  • Incredible piece.
There's truly some hard work behind the project. And to all of you complaining about the graphic part of the video, Jeroen Onstenk nailed it, it's info graphic after all - it's not a narrative film or anything.
In my opinion I didn't fanzy the style imbued in the graphics, it was slight off from the photography, I didn't feel the two elements really fit eachother, but I think it has also a lot to do with personal taste. Something that will always happen in this stuff.

    Congratulations!

Really nice video. I didn't like the text at first, but by the end it didn't seem like so much of an issue.

great video. in my opinion the graphic elements add to the urban character of the images. moreover their constant motion and the music add to the dynamics of the two processes - its true, the photos alone are already very dynamic, but still, i dont think that the music and the moving text make the video less interesting. its just a matter of taste. i'd be interested to see what would the video look like were it to be accompanied by a slower, more somber tune?
