Mary Diamond is a fabric artist from Interlaken NY and a member of the "Quilt Divas" (thequiltdivas.com)- an association of quilt & fabric artists from the Fingerlakes region of Upstate New York.
The Quilt Divas created an art quilt to benefit the "Dining for Women" charity (diningforwomen.org) - an organization of women helping women that donates funds to charities that empower women & girls throughout the developing world.
Mary created a panel inspired by the "Boma Fund" (bomafund.org) program, which supports rural entrepreneurship in northern Kenya.
During this interview Mary discusses why she chose the "The Boma Fund" as her inspiration, and how she developed this fabric portrait from a picture of a Massai mother carrying her young daughter.
