Astonishing. A shame you haven't had more views. To quote the submitted post on BoingBoing, "I had no idea this was even possible with projector technology!"

  •
  • Falko Boeck 1 year ago
I am absolutely stunned! Was this all done by video-projection? Or also with some floodlights too (i.e. creating the wandering shadows)?

and... i wonder if anything of the projection is visible on the pictures that were taken with flashlights...
  • the macula plus 1 year ago
Hi...thank you for very kind words. Yes, all was done with two Christie projectors (2x18000 lumens in HD). No additional lights in composition:)
  • Nick Grobler 5 months ago
WOW thats EPIC!!. yea stupid people using a FLASH to take photos of LIGHTS :P

For those interested in such technology or artistic performance, look at vimeo.com/7800755 or vimeo.com/1373667.
This show is about the history of Quebec province, displayed on grain silos that make a 600x30 meters screen !
This is every evening during the summer. During the winter, they display aurora borealis.
This technology was first developped by Robert Lepage (to be verified) a few years ago for this performance (lacaserne.net/index2.php/other_projects/the_image_mill/).
Each year 20% of the content is redesign.
For more information, look on the Web for "Moulin à images" or "images mill"
  • electronicAdri 1 year ago
It is more of a technique I think, rather than a technology. It has been used before Lepage´s The Image Mill in 2008. Check out some of the work of Pablo Valbuena for example. cheers.

Really fantastic. Since the backdrop of the projection (the Orloj) is coloured, do you remap the projected colours to take that into account?
