A short film about a man resigned to hold on to his life's work. This was a graduate student film at the Academy of Art University.

We filmed primarily on the Canon 5D Mark II with three Canon L lenses and one Nikkor Prime. We also had a Cinevate hand-held rig, a Glidecam, an Indie-Jib, and a Karen Abad dolly. The first shot was picked up on the Arri 35-III in the desert in Southern Oregon. The entire film was cropped to 2.35:1 simulated anamorphic.

how did you calculate where to put the 2.35:1 crop marks on your LCD?

Been a while - but basically I just measured the screen and then did the math, figured out how much to cut off the top and bottom and then masked it off with paper tape. Turns out on the 5D it's pretty close if you move the zoom retical to the top, then mask at the bottom of the square, then move it to the bottom and mask it at the top of the square. If you need greater precision (recommended) and can't figure out the math, let me know and I'll try to recall.
