1989 my mother Ms. Frances Joan Kohl celebrated her 70th birthday and her friends and family came from everywhere to Palm Desert in a rain storm to wish her the best. It was a wonderful event.
This video is a sincere homage to a wonderful woman who as a child stood in the bread lines during the great depression, never made it past the 6th grade because she was sent to work in a factory that made ice boxes and then the early version of refrigerators. She was a hero to her three children, four sisters and two brothers. Never stopped working because that is what people do to put food on the table. That's what life is all about she would say...
In 1955 she took me with her to visit her sister in California where I discovered heaven in places like Hollywood and the grand opening of Disneyland in Anaheim. This was my invitation to a future career in film and video production.
My Mom developed cancer during the year after this video was shot and passed away in March of 1990 a few days before her 71st birthday.
It was an honor to be part of her life.
