1. Nonagon - A Collected Man (Monome Improv)
First try at a monome-ified version of "A Collected Man."

For the music nerds, this was performed using MLR (aes edit 0.4) rewired into Ableton Live. Each group in MLR (corresponding more or less to a row on the monome) is routed to it's own channel in Live with delay and reverb sends controlled by the X-Session and a one-knob high / low-pass filter controlled by the O2. The stutter effects are triggered by a Beat Repeat effect inline with the "beats" group, controlled by a button on the O2. There's also an instance of LiveCut on the master channel controlled by another button on the O2, but it shows up for around half a second in this video, so not of much interest.

Thanks for the kind words! Things definitely got sloppy at times, I totally agree, but I'm glad the overall effect was still enjoyable. Speaking of sloppiness: one of my favorite things about the monome so far is that it can actually be practiced on like a traditional instrument! I can feel movements getting more natural as I spend time with it, which is a very new and welcome experience in this world of electronic music.

    Bravo monome!

really nice creation. I'm really impressed. You seem pretty well organize ! Still you have a great feeling without making it too much.

    Thanks
