HV30 low light footage / clean up
Shot in a very dark environment (just standard room lighting / 100w bulb in the ceiling + light from the TV) @ 1/50th so I would guess the HV30 was throwing a lot of gain on to the image.
Result was very grey and very grainy.
Cleaned up in After Effects.

In After Effects, two filters applied to the footage.
*Remove Grain* and then dynamic range increased with *Levels*
This removes the noise/grain and brightens up the image (adjust to taste).
+
On an adjustment layer above the main footage apply the median filter (radius 3) and then set this layers transfer mode to *Color*
This removes most of the HDV compression artifacts that you get especially around bright red colours.
Noise Reduction 2.000
Passes 5
All other settings left at default.
I didn't realise SGPros were that cheap. Did you buy rails for it?
