People attempt to visit their homes in buildings that were long ago demolished. It's about things that can't be visited: the intangible geography of the heart.

A central symbol is the poppy flower. Since antiquity it has symbolized 'endless sleep' and today it recalls how decimated battlefields of WWI blossomed scarlet. I collected rubble from ruined apartments and attached paper poppies with wire stems. The flowers are the evanescent trace of the past, like monuments for a history that simply disappears.
