Hi Stan! I was checking to see what you're up to (you've kind of disappeared--are you OK?), hoping to see more of your still photos a la your meditation series and Jimmy Chow, and what do I find? This witty jewel of a PhotoStory! C'mon, Stan, what else do you have up your sleeve?

Many thanks for the kind words and the "wondering". Kinda' been "distracted" for a few months by the election here in the states and the subsequent (though, soberly euphoric) rise in spirits. Not to mention the pesky waves of reality swamping the decks of our world-sized barge full of exported ponzi-pennies. Then there is/was the "dry" period of discovering - to steal your image - that I was wearing a sleeveless "creative" shirt. Still kind of runnin' near a creative empty, but thanks for the reassurance that even my playful eye-pudding has a lump or two of substance.

Good! You're still whinnying with us, to steal a line from Dylan Thomas! I must say your style is even more Baroque than mine, which suits me fine. Now let's see, where are we metaphorically, adrift or sinking in that ship of yours? Any old shirt in a storm, though, sleeveless or spun of the coarsest hair, but enough! Glad to hear the spring in your voice, and I did indeed find more wit in that last simple piece of yours than I've seen in a ton of PhotoStories. Keep in touch!

I'd forgotten how good this is, how witty and intelligent,

Sorry I missed this until Ray posted it on PSM.
If we're working with my two favourite adjectives, simple and enigmatic, then this is ground breaking stuff Stan. I really like it - no matter what your motivation. On first viewing I'm waiting for something to happen. Eventually something does but it's not at all what I expected. On subsequent viewings I know what's going to happen but then I'm free to focus on the composition which, to me, is pleasing. After a short while it becomes 'impressionistic' in quality.
I know that's a lot to say about a simple composition but it's what I get from it and anyway, others can write whole books about a single painting and get away with it.
I like it and I hope it opens doors for this new 'breakaway-surrealist' movement that seems to be creeping out from the shadows.
