I wanted to show another side of Trinidad and Tobago that is often overlooked. La Vega is a small village located in Gran Couva Trinidad, where the villagers live a very simple and humble lifestyle. When one considers the country's recent drive towards urban development in the capital city, it would seem as though small towns like these have been neglected with regards to technology and modern infrastructure. However these four brothers seem not to be too concerned about what others may see as a disservice. They make the most of their Sunday afternoon, enjoying each other's company with a true appreciation for their natural surroundings. You can see them riding, climbing trees, running, flipping and taking a stroll along the narrow, unsurfaced roadway lined with cocoa trees to one side and a variety of tropical fauna on the other.
In the absence of modern luxury and technology they are by no means unaware of what is out there. They all work very hard in school and have dreams of a brighter future. In the meantime if you're ever in their neck of the woods you won't regret an encounter with fresh air, beautiful surroundings and good company.
