Why would you want a rubber deck?
@ed it's a rubber (or EDPM Membrane ) roof.
Although it is a profoundly excellent location for a deck (the owners do not want to have a deck here; it's just a flat roof) the owners are having us do a tapered foam underlayment (to pitch the water towards copper scuppers we have yet to make) the membrane is a common roofing covering for flat roofs and the system allows for adapting to
odd configurations. The rubber will not have traffic on it.
