This is why you use a variable ND filter - the camera is set up at 1/50 @ f/2.8, and we're able to adjust the brightness manually by turning the outer ring of the filter. This is a great way to keep the shallow depth of field (lots of nice bokeh) in bright daylight, and at the same time maintaining the shutter speed at 1/50 to get correct motion blur while filming in 24p.
