Last night I woke up in the middle of the night and came up with this crazy test idea to try to see which method of pan/tilt works better.
* Normal Speed at 1080p 24fps (duration of tilt 7 seconds)
* Slow motion speed at 720p 60fps (duration of tilt 7 seconds with it in slo-mo)
Basically I wanted the clip to be the same duration so when I filmed it at that 1080 I went slow 7 second tilt and then at 720p 60fps I did it in 4 seconds.
This really hard to explain, just watch the video and you will get the idea.
Please let me know if the 720 60fps was smoother.
Note: I did this on my 50mm prime without IS image stabilization so I could test the worst case scenario.
Of course you can only use this method for when you shoot static objects.
