Ivan Krastev, Chairman of the Board, Centre for Liberal Strategies (Bulgaria), discusses Paradoxes of the New Authoritarianism at the 2010 Seymour Martin Lipset Lecture on Democracy in the World held at the Embassy of Canada in Washington, DC.

He is also editor-in-chief of the Bulgarian edition of Foreign Policy, associate editor of Europe’s World, a founding board member of the European Council on Foreign Relations, and a member of the Council of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (London).
