Forests can be a casualty of conflict (think napalm) or given temporary relief from logging because of war. The pressures on forest cover in post-conflict situations are less ambiguous. Emily Harwell, lead author of a synthesis report on forests & fragile states, lists some of the main negative pressures that can affect forest cover.
