The Corner Pub at 627D E. College in East Decatur Station in Decatur, GA holds a series of cook-offs each year. Anyone is welcome to submit an entry. Three judges select a winner and 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place. The winner wins $50 in house cash and bragging rights. After the judging, everyone present is invited to sample the entries for free. The winners are announced after that.
The annual "Buttapalooza" was held on Saturday 10/23/2010. There were 16 entries. This time, all the proceeds were donated to the Susan B. Komen "Run for the Cure" cause. $5 raffle tickets were sold for chances to win a beach cruiser bike, house cash, and tee shirts. Over $700 was raised for the cause.
Michael Dynes, a regular, won first place, for his #2 entry. Wallace and Lucretia Meadows won 2nd. Jim Corbett won 3rd and 4th. They (with the exception of Lucretia) can be seen left to right in the image at the start of the video.
The judges were three TCP employees.
The images of all the entries, starting at #1 and working up, show the variety of entries.
A good (but not packed) crowd showed up and had a good time.
I must apologize for my camera cutting off (due to a low battery) several times during the video of Josh announcing the winners, causing gaps indicated by the black screens. I should have brought my backup battery.
