Bio: Polysonic is a collaborative effort by seasoned Philly musicians Gina Ferrera(African xylophone/vocals) , Shawn Hennessey(hypno-guitar/vocals), Elliot Garland(sub-funky bass), Cito Caraballo Candell(electro-percussion/vocals) and Gabe Globus-Hoenich(drums). Their sound is truly unique, fusing ancient tribal rhythms (sometimes intimate, sometimes driving) with effects and innovations in modern electro-organic-ethno-techno. Ferrera, plays the mallekat, a MIDI xylophone that provides the foundation rooted in traditional poly-rhythm she learned in Ghana. With the energy of the band and their hypnotic grooves, the resulting blend stirs the soul and unfolds new worlds of sound.
