It’s been a whole year since Logan came to our shelter. I want to share with you all the things that we have learned about him this past year …
Logan (est. birthdate 1/06) came to us a skinny, covered with (non-contagious) mange, full of worms, stray dog who had been on the streets for however long. Now he’s gained 15 pounds and has THE glossiest coat in the shelter. His personality has not changed--he’s loving, trusting and forever happy. Always up for a pet. Always ready for a treat. Always ready to play. Always ready to bring smiles to the volunteers who stop by his run for a quick hello.
Logan is the sensitive type. He’s a dog that is going to need reassuring and a lending hand as he grows used to his life in a home … The pots are banging--oh, my! My human is yelling at the TV because the Bengal’s just fumbled--oh, my! All of a sudden there are 15 people in my house talking over each other and I’ve not met any of them--oh, my! My human is now at my level reassuring me with soft words ... much better!
Logan has it in him to be a very confident dog. He’s just going to need some help getting there. In the beginning you’ll need to hold Logan’s paw as you help lead him through life. That includes not getting frustrated when he wants to go right and you want to go left. It will be up to both you and Logan to find the right road that leads down the middle.
Logan is a black lab/Shar Pei mix. Those two breeds couldn’t be farther from each other in regards to the activity level needed to keep them happy. Logan tends to be in the middle, especially for a boy who currently is only a year and a half old. He’s always up for a romp, but is also content to snuggle. He’s up for training classes, but then just as happy to get in the car and sleep on the way home. We’ve taught him the basics--sit and down. He’d be more than happy to work with you as you teach him other things.
I’m biased, I admit it. I love the boy to death! But I’m not the only one. There are dozens of volunteers just like me who have come to adore Logan. We all believe in our hearts that his home is out there. Are you it?
If Logan sounds like your kind of guy, please see our homepage for visiting hours and adoption details.
