HSBC Celebration of Light "China's Night"
English Bay, Vancouver, BC, Canada
Heres the fireworks I've promised! I'm feeling really good about this video. Although some shots could be better in quality. Had a wide angle on the HV30 and that for some reason brought a lot of grain to the footage unfortunately. Oh well, it was a great night out in the city.
Best part was carrying my new 15lbs video tripod, totally worth it though. All footage was solid.

i dont think mine is going to turn out as good as yours.
Can't wait to see yours :D
Starting to edit the AirShow now :)
Just a side note; shutter speed looked high (1/100 and up) I usually use 1/60th in low light, but that's just 'cause i don't mind minor blur as much as noise.
Actually every shot was 30p and nothing else. As well all shots were done in Fireworks mode. The difference that I'm seeing is because of the wide angle lens I used. It was a Standard Definition lens and seemed to cut out a lot of light. The shots in there where you see a rich black background is without the wide angle. Again same mode Fireworks.
But you're right. Having a shutter speed of about 1/100 is crazy, thats why I didn't use it :P
As for the grain, it seemed to have gotten worse when I uploaded it to Vimeo. It seems they've added more compression to their converting. :(
But what really turns this upside down on me is that when I took the wide angle off, I never changed any settings. And that footage came out sharp and perfect. And looking at the left over footage I have, the shots without the lens look fine even with low light.
Made me feel warm and fuzzy
