MMMmmmeat. I've always wanted to see a Moose in the wild but not too close.

Hey Charlie! We get "sightings" on the local news since a couple of times a year a moose will make it's way into the area only to be tranquilized and shipped back into a more rural area. Sometimes they act in a threatening way and are taken out by sharp shooters.

We do the same thing here to Amway salesmen.

Wow cool. What's moose meat like to eat (texture/taste etc)? It seems like something I might try one day. It looked good.
  • CTD3 3 years ago
It's VERy lean and awesome on taste beside Magda put her touch on it so it's doubly good!
So sorry the audio was muted I have to shout or VO with that camera.

I`ll bet that`s quite tasty. I`ve eaten reindeer steak in Sweden, it had a good flavour but was a bit stringy. Chili con carne is my favourite dish and I reckon minced moose chile has got to be first class.
  • CTD3 3 years ago
Oh yes it is we tenderize via marinating the meat both ground Moose and piece of moose roast which makes it a choice ingredient in Chili.
I am lucky to have done a small job for a guy who paid me in part in moose meat, Canadian Moose meat.

The cornbread looks pretty dark. Any secret ingredients to get it that way?
  • CTD3 3 years ago
It's actually a version of Sweet cornbread, & I'll have to ask Magda why it's a bit darker than usual since she & kiki cooked up this batch,
one thing's for sure it's very tasty and a perfect side to chili eating ( for Buck Flashroy or anyone for that matter.).

I found a recipe on Epicurious for sweet cornbread that calls for sweet potatos. Maybe I'll try it sometime. It looks good. Thanks.
  • CTD3 3 years ago
That's a twist sounds like a good idea!
  • CTD3 3 years ago
Well as per your query on the darkness of the cornbread = dark brownsugar is why.

I particularly like this one because Buck wouldn't have had the opportunity to eat moose in the real world.
  • CTD3 3 years ago
Had to put the moose meat to good use SteveR!

I've still never seen a moose.

I go to boarding school in Fryeburg, ME. Not too far from Portland.
  • CTD3 3 years ago
You're in Fryeburg and have not seen a moose!
Likely you will , for some reason I thought you were on the west coast.
